Chamber announces new Business Development Manager as Herts business bounce-back continues
Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce (HCoC) has appointed Donna Schultz as its Head of Business Development as the organisation embraces the complete reopening of business activity across the county.
In her new role, Donna, who joined the Chamber in July 2019 as Business Engagement Manager, is responsible for driving new revenue streams and managing key member and commercial working relationships.
This includes building on the success of initiatives that supported members throughout the outbreak of COVID-19 such as HR, legal and tax advice for companies facing tax or furlough issues, offered by Chamber benefit partners Quest.
Her role also involves adding value and taking ownership of a professional commercial working relationships with members, providing a quality support service to help members Connect, Collaborate and Grow.
“I joined the Chamber six months before we entered our first lockdown. We immediately spent 18 months working from home, which required learning new ways of engaging our members,” Donna explains. “What I was doing prior to the lockdown was very much a front-of-house business and this will be the means of contact/communication we are now focused on returning to.”
Her focus is now on face-to-face time with members at its growing calendar of physical events. The Chamber’s sector summits have proven an effective tool for generating collaboration and will play a continued role in generating growth in these industries throughout the county.
Donna is also inviting members to meetings at the Chamber’s new office at York House in Salisbury Square; the organisation’s home since January, allowing for a larger base for future growth. The Chamber was recently named the fastest growing in the UK by the British Chambers of Commerce.
These various events are all part and parcel of giving businesses across the country the best possible chance of a successful emergence from the pandemic.
“Our strategy is now focused on making the transition back to face-to-face. Reviewing what we do and making sure that we work together as a team and deliver,” said Donna.
The renewed focus on face-to-face activity will be complemented by campaigns such Let’s Keep the Heart in Hertfordshire, which sets out to motivate regional businesses to collaborate rather than outsource to other counties, and the Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards, which returns for its 11th year in June.
Whether it’s a new Hollywood studio, a start-up enterprise, an SME or multinational conglomerate. There’s a lot going on in Herts.
